Shirley H. Treace

Shirley H. Treace, age 86, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Shirley was known for her dedication to volunteer service. She selflessly served 20 years in the Coosa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary and had over 3000 hours of service as a Pink Lady. She leaves many friends that she considered family and an extended family that she well-loved. She embraced a personal philosophy to give unselfishly and to serve the Lord through giving. She encouraged everyone believing, "Laughter is the best medicine." Just as God gave us a sense of humor, she kept hers until her last breath. Shirley is survived by her daughter Carrie Mathews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Leon Treace, Sr.; her father Joe Hardy and her mother Mary Mae Hardy; and 4 brothers. A visitation for Shirley will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Shirley will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
