George Schoemaker Obituary

George Shoemaker, 76

George Shoemaker, 76, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, was raised in the Flathead Valley and passed away there peacefully on June 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and his loyal beagle, Ruger.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianne Shoemaker; his daughter, Vikkie Shoemaker; his sister, April Parvi; his sister, Chris McCarley; and his parents, Jerald Shoemaker and Evelyn Mason-Shoemaker.

He is survived by his children: David Shoemaker, Kari Hart, Windy Clay, Holly Baker, and his stepdaughter Amy Romeo.

He leaves behind a legacy through his many grandchildren:

- Kari Hart's children: Kyle McClanahan, his son Kyler; and Brittani Prewitt, her husband Richard Prewitt, and their children Serephina, Journey, and Danny.

- Windy Clay, her husband Mike Clay (who was like a second son to George) and their children: Jeremy Briles and his wife Kylie Briles, and their children Jordan, Kinzley, and Jaxon; Tiffani Nelson and her son Ryder; Courtni Haxby and her husband Daniel Haxby, and their children Declan and an expected baby boy; Kaelynn Nelson and her son Parker.

- Holly Baker's children: Ashlynn Baker, Hannah Baker, and Zachary Baker and his wife Sjuana Baker.

- Vikkie Shoemaker's children: Lacey Larsen and her husband Seth Larsen, and their children Emily, Samuel, Edmond, and Frederick; Alex Mathis and her fiancé Luke; and Jacob Ellison.

George had a deep love for the outdoors-hunting and fishing were among his favorite pastimes-and he especially enjoyed a good round of golf with friends. He was also enthusiastic about Ford vehicles and devoted over 30 years of his life to working for Ford dealerships. He was known for his strong work ethic, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family. George was the type of man who would do anything for his loved ones.

He touched countless lives and leaves behind many friends and acquaintances, each with a story to tell and a memory to share. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of George Shoemaker's life will be held on Saturday July 12th at 2:00 PM at the Conrad Cemetery.
