Larry Calvert Obituary

Larry Calvert, 88

Larry M. Calvert, 88, passed away of natural causes June 8, 2023. She was born January 19, 1935, to Olga Woodcock Dawson and Walter Clifford Dawson in Helena, MT.

Larry grew up in Great Falls, MT and attended grade school and high school there, graduating in 1953. She attended the University of Montana, Missoula, the College of Great Falls, and Montana State University, Bozeman. She graduated from MSU in 1959. Larry married Charles William (Bill) Calvert in 1955. They lived in MT, Washington State, Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma, and New Mexico while Bill worked for Conoco as a seismographer. In 1965 they moved to Eureka MT where they both taught in the High School there. Larry taught High School English for 23 years, retiring in 1988. After retirement She and Bill moved to the Creston area of the Flathead Valley. Her husband, Bill, passed away in 2003.

In her youth Larry enjoyed summers riding horses on family ranches at Shonkin, MT and Boulder, MT. As an adult Larry enjoyed her family, traveling, working with Literacy Volunteers of Flathead County, her many pets and reading.

Larry is survived by sons, Mark Calvert (Kelly), Columbia Falls MT; Paul Calvert, Rexford, MT; Grandchildren: Brandon Calvert (Carmen), Dustin, Jason and Megan; 1 great-grandchild, Liam Calvert; In- laws Mary and Lynn Carpenter and Pattricia Calvert, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and life-long friends Paul and Francis Erler and Bill Sanguine.
