Gregory Higgens Obituary

Gregory D. Higgens, 65, of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born on February 21, 1958 to Calvin and Betty Higgens. Greg graduated from Perry Meridian in 1976 and completed his bachelors at IUPUI. He worked as a project manager at Coreslab Structures for 32 years. As a project manager, he worked on projects such as Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and Victory Field in Indianapolis.

Greg enjoyed biking and running, and ran the Mini-Marathon since 2000. He valued time with his family, from visiting his parents weekly to family vacations and hiking. He was skilled in woodworking. Greg had a kind heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed serving at Mt. Auburn Church, where he would help set up chairs and tend flowers on the garden team.

Greg is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Tammy (Suits) Higgens; son Jeffrey Higgens; daughter Sarah Higgens; brother Daniel Higgens; sisters Diane (Don) Beeman and Carolyn (Rex) Adams; his mother Betty Higgens. He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Higgens.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Rd 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Service will be held at 1:00pm followed by interment in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
