October 20,2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was born on June 2, 1940, to the late Albert and Edna Woodruff Hofmann. From an
early age, he was known for his kind heart and friendly demeanor. He was a devoted
father, grandfather, and friend who always put his family first.
Throughout his life, Jim worked as a graphics designer for Eli Lilly and Company, where he
was respected for his hard work, dedication, and integrity. Outside of work, he loved
attending church, exercising, doing yard work, carpentry, walking along the beach, boat
watching, occasionally fishing and getting his McDonald's coffee. His happiest moments
were spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Kevin (Deborah), Bradley, Jay (Jessica); grandchildren:
Jamie, Daniel, Carly, Nevada, Emily, Rachel, Quentin and Ian; great grandchildren: Devin,
Andrew, Evie and Holden. His legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live through all who knew and
loved him.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on October 28, 2025, at Simplicity Funeral &
Cremation Care, 7520 S. Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Visitation will be
held from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
Jim will be remembered for his gentle spirit and loving heart and for the countless lives he
touched along the way. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
