Karen Emlet Obituary

Karen Ann Emlet, 71, of Greenwood, passed away on October 1, 2022. She was born on January 4, 1951 in Beech Grove, IN to Raymond and Barbara (AmRhein) Best.

Karen was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Southport High School and Ivy Tech, and was a member of Daughters of the Revolution. Karen worked as a Radiologist Technician for St. Francis Radiology for 13 years then retired after 23 years as a Billing Specialist at Radiology Associates of Indianapolis.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Melissa (James) Smith; grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor; and sisters, Barbara (Michael) Griffin and Nancy (Dennis) Young.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Emlet.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 am at St Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd, Indianapolis, IN.

Karen will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation or St. Jude’s Catholic Church.
