Marion Edward Sheets

1930 - 2025

Marion Edward Sheets, age 95, of Greenwood, IN, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was born February 22,1930, in Adams County, Indiana to the late Chauncey and Margaret (Kidwell) Sheets.

Marion was a 1949 graduate of Monmouth High School near Decatur, IN. He bravely served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 before he was honorably discharged. Marion was formerly employed by Indiana American Water Corporation where he dedicated 29 years of service until he retired in 1992. He was a long-time member of the Greenwood Christian Church. Marion was known to enjoy spending time outdoors and fishing in his free time. He loved tending to his vegetable garden and was a very talented carpenter who often created personal woodworking projects for his friends and family. Marion will also be remembered for his love of watching sports and spending time with his beloved family. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

Marion is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marilyn (VanDielen) Sheets of Greenwood, IN; his children, Steven (Ellen) Sheets of Indianapolis, IN, and Sandra (Sonia Cassell) Sheets of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Spencer Sheets and James Sheets of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Violet Sprague of Fort Wayne, IN; Carol Siegmann of Indianapolis, IN.

A visitation for Marion will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 11:00 am 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on January 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Reverend Perry Anderson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
