Paul Legan

Paul William Legan, age 67, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home. He was born in Noblesville on September 1, 1956 to Barbara Ann (Giger) Legan and Oscar Freeman Legan. He graduated from Franklin Community High School. In 1988, he received his bachelor's degree in construction technology from IUPUI. On October 7, 1978, Paul married Mary R. (Bir) in Indianapolis.

From 1988 to 2018, he worked in construction sales. Most recently, Paul worked in medical sales alongside Mary. Always proud of his farming roots, Paul had a lifelong love of machinery, farm implements and cars, in particular. As an avid autocrosser, he was a longtime Sports Car Club of America member who always enjoyed time amongst his Columbus Sports Car Club mates. Recently, Paul was constructing a new car, alongside his son Joe, that he planned to road race.

A devout Catholic, he was a member at St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a faithful supporter of Purdue University basketball.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Mary Legan of Greenfield; children, Nicholas Legan (Kristen) of Nederland, CO, Joseph Legan (Tiffany) of St. Petersburg, FL and Bridget Hawryluk (Michael) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, John Hawryluk and Harrison Hawryluk; siblings, Malinda Wolfe (Jim), Daniel Legan (Mary), Dorothy Flack (Thomas), and Neal Legan (Sheila). He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, for whom had a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Oscar.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140 at 10:00 a.m.
