Steve Greenwood Martin Clodfelter Steve Martin Clodfelter, 70, loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, and friend was born on December 4, 1954 in Russellville, IN to William and Glennie Clodfelter.
A resident of Greenwood, Steve passed away after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's disease on May 15th, 2025, surrounded by friends and family. We find peace knowing that he has joined his parents in his heavenly home with Jesus.
Steve married the love of his life, Judy, in October of 1989 and also gained a daughter, Megan Nicole. They welcomed their second daughter, Samantha Ellen, in 1990. As a family of four, they enjoyed traveling across the country exploring new cities, attending sporting events like Pacers and Colts games, and hosting family and friend gatherings at their home.
He was a man of unwavering faith and had the ability to bring people to Christ. He and his family were faithful members of New Hope Church. He and Judy have been members of the same small group through the church for nearly 25 years. Even up until his final days, Steve was a part of a weekly men's Bible study, something he looked forward to every week. When his illness started to take a turn, he chose to rededicate his life to Christ and was baptized by two of his brothers in Christ, Dwayne Doles, and the late Gary Robinson.
Steve earned a bachelor's degree in education from Indiana Central (University of Indianapolis) and went on to receive a master's degree from Indiana University. He was a star three sport athlete in high school which led him to play college basketball at Indiana Central. His love of sports continued as a basketball coach for over 20 years at Center Grove High School as well as coaching football and baseball. Steve shared his love of learning with generations of students during his 34 years as a beloved math teacher at the school. Aside from teaching, he enjoyed selling real estate, teaching driver's education, and coaching his daughters in various sports. After he finished his teaching career, he volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital and the Indianapolis Sports Corp where he was able to help during the Super Bowl and the NCAA basketball tournaments.
Steve's love of sports continued through his entire life as he went on yearly golf trips with friends, played in basketball leagues, and cycled great distances around the area. Most of all, he enjoyed countless trips to Las Vegas with friends and family.
Steve will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Judith Ellen (Williams) Clodfelter; daughters, Megan (Bradley) Stephenson and Samantha Clodfelter; grandchildren, Evelyn Jude, Madelyn Patricia, and Beckham Daniel Stephenson; siblings, John (Cathy) Clodfelter, Lou (Jeff) Fordice, Mark (Cindy) Clodfelter, and Paul (Laurie) Clodfelter; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
