Aaron Lee Paul Wilson
FARMINGTON – Aaron Wilson, of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the age of 40. He was born in Farmington on September 30, 1980, to Joanna (Jones) Barton and the late Rev. Brit Wayne Wilson who passed in 1985. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rita Vallo; maternal grandfather, Buddy Jones; and paternal grandparents, Jean and Salty Barton.
Aaron was a 1999 graduate of Central High School and while in high school began working at Plank Road Inn. While working there he became involved in construction and went on to enjoy a long career in construction, specifically hanging dry wall. A man of many talents, he was a meticulous woodworker and made many treasured gifts for friends and family members. He was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan who loved attending the games. Aaron also loved spending time at the river and just being in the outdoors. Through the years he made many friends and he enjoyed spending time with them. Aaron was always the life of the party and lit up every room he walked into. He spent many hours gladly helping friends and family with anything they needed. His children were his pride and joy and he loved them unconditionally.
He is survived by his parents, Joanna "Joie" and Rev. Mike Barton; his children, Brit (Bethany) Wilson, Lexie Wilson and Emmett Wilson; five siblings, Amy Courtney, Molly (Brandon) Hardin, Jake Barton, Rev. Mike (Thera) Barton II, and Amy (Bob) Ford; maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Dallas Brown; paternal grandparents, Paul and Kathy Wilson; his best friend, Chris Talley and numerous special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Friday until the time of the funeral at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Mark Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. A dinner will be held for family and friends at Bismarck Assembly of God Church immediately following the interment.
