FARMINGTON – Mr. Allan Douglass Schell, 82, passed away May 16, 2014, in Farmington. Allan was born September 25, 1931, in Hornersville, Missouri, and was the son of Phillip Edward Schell and Mima Jane 'Edmonson' Schell. Also preceding in death were: his wife, Patsy Ann "Pat" (Metcalf) Schell (2010); a son-in-law, Dr. Rick Ferguson; and five brothers and sisters: W.R. Schell; Katherine Swindle; Frances Scherman; Clyde Cook and Ann Cope.
Allan: graduated from ArkansasStateUniversity, Jonesboro. He was a US Army Veteran, and discharged in 1956 as a Lieutenant. He was an educator at Hornersville R-I schools; House Springs schools and retired from the North County school district, serving 30 years as an educator. Alan and Pat were original Core Group Members that planted NewHeightsChurch; a past, longtime, faithful member of FarmingtonFirstBaptistChurch and was united in marriage to Pat Metcalf in 1953, in Monette, Arkansas. Alan enjoyed fishing, furniture restoration and woodworking.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Ferguson (and Ed) Litton, of Mobile, Alabama. Two sons: Christopher Schell (and Kathy Russell), of Herculaneum, Missouri. Phillip (and Becca) Schell, of Kirkwood, Missouri. Six grandchildren, Brett (and Rachel) Ferguson; Kate (and Chuck) Marshall; Justin (and Lindsey) Ferguson; Hannah Schell; Mackenzie Schell and Tyler Schell. Also, six great-grandchildren: Aubrielle Ferguson, Lily Ferguson, Eli Marshall, Nora Marshall, Henry Marshall and Maisie Ferguson.
Visitation starts today, 11:30 a.m., at NewHeightsChurch, 4982 Flat River Road, Farmington and funeral at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Rocky Good officiating, under direction of Taylor Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., Farmington. LeadBelt Patriot Guard Riders will lead the funeral procession to HillviewMemorialGardensCemetery, Farmington, for interment. Memorials to: New HeightsChurch, Building Fund.
