FARMINGTON - Daniel "Dan" Peek of Farmington passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the age of 60 years. He was born on November 1, 1950.
Dan grew up living all over the World in places as diverse as Greenland, Japan, Pakistan and Europe. These different cultures set the stage for his artistic creativity. He and his band went on to receive the Grammy Award for Best New Artist of 1972. Dan also received a Grammy nomination in 1979 for his first Contemporary Christian Album "All Things are Possible." He authored a book titled "An American Band, the America Story by Dan Peek." Most importantly, Dan had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was a dedicated Bible scholar and Christian Soldier.
Dan met the love of his life, Catherine Maberry, at high school in London, England, and they later married. He loved being around the water. He was born within the sound of the waves and the beat of the tide was in his blood.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Catherine and his parents, Milton and Gerri; and five siblings, Tom, Debbie, Becky, David and Angela.
