CORNWALL, Mo. -- Harriett Ann Miller Cozean of Oakhurst, California, formerly of Farmington, was reunited with the angels on July 3, 2018, at the age of 93 in her own home, just as she wished.
Her life began in Galva, Illinois, on October 8, 1924, when she was born the only child to Edwin William Miller and Florence Dunn Miller. She met Rolla "Bud" Rutledge Cozean of Farmington, Missouri, in the mid-forties; they married in 1948 and after living in Farmington for many years, they moved to Centralia, Illinois, in 1963 to continue their lives together. She was widowed in 1988, and moved to Oakhurst in 1993. Harriett is survived by her three children: Anne Cozean and Marty Ross Vining, both of North Fork, California, and Danny Cozean of Centralia, as well as an honorary daughter Donna Picard, also of Centralia. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild, all of whom she loved very much. She taught piano to children in her earlier days and continued her love of playing the piano into her 90's. She enjoyed sitting in her garden and playing bridge at the Senior Center. Being with her family and friends gave her great joy, and her sharp wit and sense of humor will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Harriett will be laid to rest next to her husband Bud at Snowdenville Cemetery in Cornwall, Missouri, at a private ceremony Saturday, October 6, followed by a family gathering at 1 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. View the online obituary and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
