DESLOGE - Herman Barr, 93, of Desloge passed away May 6, 2005, at Georgian Gardens.
He was born January 3, 1912, in Czar, Crawford County.
He was a member of the Desloge United Methodist Church, Honorary Lifetime member of the Flat River Rotary Club; also taught school for 8 years before serving in the Army during WWII. He retired in 1972 after 32 years with the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Preceded in death by parents Russell Sherman Barr and Mary Ella Morrison; five brothers: Fred, Lawrence, Roy, Edward and Lynn Barr and one sister Grace Turnbough.
Survived by his wife: Margaret M. Cole Barr; one son: Ralph Barr and wife Karen of Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren: Melanie, Mrs. Patrick Sullivan, of Webster Groves, Jill, Mrs. Jason Scales and Susan Barr of Chicago; three great-grandchildren, Payton, Sean and Ryan Sullivan.
Visitation 5 p.m. Sunday, May 9 at C.Z. Boyer & Son in Desloge and Monday 9-11 a.m. at The Desloge Methodist Church. Services 11 a.m. Monday at the Desloge United Methodists.
Burial, Czar Cemetery in Crawford County.
Memorials may be made to Desloge United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
