Jane Marie Wurst

FARMINGTON – Jane Marie Wurst (nee Judlin) was born March 7, 1948, to Dorothy Ramsey (Holmes, Judlin) and Walter Judlin in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She passed away January 31, 2021.

Jane spent much of her adult life in Farmington. She had her only son, Jeffrey, at a young age and was married to Jimmy Dale Wurst in her early adult life. Jane worked for years at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center, where she was loved and respected by coworkers and patients alike; and was also a licensed beautician, keeping a basement beauty shop for decades. She extended the same grace and rapport to those she served in her jobs as to all old friends and family, and tended to express her affinity through wit and sarcasm, all the while tending to others' needs in a unique manner that deeply respected their dignity. Jane loved a good, self-deprecating story whether she was the one telling it or listening, either way always with a hearty cackle and a twinkle in her eye.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; niece, Jeana Copeland Girard; and brother, Jack Judlin.

Jane is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Deanna) Wurst; her brothers, Jim and Joel Judlin; her sisters, Joyce Tripp, and Jill Wolk; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends from all eras of her life.

May she rest in peace, freed from the ailments and pain of her earthly body and mind, and may memories of her kindness, humor, service, and generosity bless all those who knew her.

An informal memorial for family and friends will be held at a later date to be determined.
