Parvez Dastoor Obituary

FARMINGTON -- Parvez "Pete" Dastoor passed away on November 2, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born in Mumbai, India, on September 21, 1941 to Shiavax and Baktavar (Mistry) Dastoor. Pete received a BS in Chemistry-Botany from the University of Bombay (Mumbai, India). Then in August 1965, he came to the United States to continue his education. During his days at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, he met his future wife and earned his BS in Pharmacy in 1967. He started his career with LeGear Labs, later CPC International. In 1976 when CPC restructured, he and his wife decided to embark on a new journey as owners/operators of their own pharmacy - Community Drugs of Pilot Knob, MO. After 27 years of working to serve the Arcadia Valley, he started his next chapter as pharmacist for Iron County Drug Company and Wal-Mart.

In 1967, he married his true love, Patricia (nee Ventimiglia). In July, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He celebrated the birth of his son in 1969 and daughter in 1971. He took pride in taking his family on trips to India to introduce them to their extended family and induct them into the Zoroastrian Parsi lineage. He was an original member of the St. Louis Parsi community, and also served as their Dasturji (priest) at many Parsi functions and Navjotes. He lived his life following the principles of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. He enjoyed his beach house in Pass Christian, MS, the academics, mentoring kids, a hearty laugh, poetry, fine arts, music, a well-made chapeau, nature walks with his pets, Rusty Zipper coffee outings, and time with loved ones. His most cherished role came in 2017 when he became Bawaji (grandfather).

Survivors include wife, Patricia of Farmington, MO; son Sam and wife Christy (nee Earl) of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Shirin and husband Chad Clarke of Tampa, FL; and his pride and joy, his new granddaughter, Miss Morgan "My-G" of Flower Mound, TX (and grandfather to numerous grand-dogs).

In addition to immediate family, he is survived by brothers Meher of Mumbai, India; Homi of Stratford, CT; Nozer of Florence, KY; sister Pauru of San Jose, CA; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from around the globe. Where there is love, there is life.

Services will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, MO on Saturday, November 11 at 11a.m. A luncheon will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Parish Center. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center (www.FarmingtonPet.org). View the online obituary and share your memories at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
