DESLOGE – Pete Selzer, age 47, of Desloge passed away on August 3, 2023, peacefully alongside his mother Joy Thurston and his fur babies Emma and Addie. Pete was born on Friday, September 5, 1975.

In addition to his mom, he was preceded in death by his father, Pete Selzer Jr., grandparents, Pete and Virginia Selzer Sr., Fred and Jean Sapper.

Pete will be dearly missed by his two sisters Tracy (Rob) Burns and Carmen (Dewayne) Higgins; nieces, Casey Burns, Madison Nohren, Destiny Higgins, Bailea Higgins; nephew, Rion (Laura) Burns; three great-nephews; two great-nieces along with several aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and a multitude of friends.

Pete was one of those people that everybody knew. He graduated from North County High School in 1993 and was looking forward to seeing his classmates and celebrating with them. He went on to serve in the Army National Guard and later became a very much loved and respected coach of North County Cross Country. He loved life and spending time with his friends. His loss will be felt by so many. He was currently employed with Ardagh Glass Company in Pevely and looked so forward to his 4'day weekends. He will leave an empty place in all of the hearts that knew and loved him, especially his two older sisters and their families.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 11 a.m. until service time of 1 p.m. with Rev. Chuck Lotz officiating. Burial to follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Family asked that memorials be made in memory of Pete to the choice of the donor.
