Robert J. Blackwell
WELDON SPRING, Mo. – Robert J. Blackwell, of Weldon Spring, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home March 28, 2021, with his wife and daughters by his side. He was 71 years of age.
Beloved husband for 41 years to Pamela (Resinger) Blackwell; cherished son of the late Robert M. and Leatha J. (Haynes) Blackwell; devoted father of Christie (Basler) Thomas, and Sarah (Hunt) Soutier; loving grandfather of Kody (Jackie) Thomas, Kayla (Don) Bush, Karley (Casey) Thomas, Shelby Soutier, and Madison Soutier; loving great-grandfather of Nolan, Easton, and Charlotte Thomas, Karsten, and Kamri Bush; and Finley Jane Luetkenhaus; and loving brother of Charles (Linda) Blackwell.
Born and raised in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Robert was Class President of the last class to graduate from Bonne Terre High School in 1967. He attended the University of Missouri and Missouri Law School, graduating in 1973, Order of the Coif. He went on to law clerk for Chief Judge James Meredith for a year and then went into private practice until his passing.
Robert was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, and all sports Mizzou. He loved watching games and taking his family to as many games he could. Robert enjoyed playing golf, at Whitmoor Country Club where he was a member for over 28 years; he also enjoyed racquetball. Robert loved fireworks and over the years thrilled his family, friends, and neighbors with one of the best fireworks displays around.
Robert loved the practice of law but his biggest love was his family who loved him dearly; he will be greatly missed and forever in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Whitmoor Country Club in Weldon Spring, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association; Living Water International; or Cardinals Care.
