Hello Basler Family. This is Mary Beth Filer Werner. I’m so very sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. I remember your family from when I was a little girl at St. Anne’s. I went to church there again several years ago & volunteered for the parish picnic in the kitchen. Ruth was so kind & helpful to me especially that first year when I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. She coached me through every step. I still have & use a cookbook that she gave me at that time.
I also remember her delicious desserts & her beautiful church decorations.
Please know that all of you are in my thoughts & prayers.

Dear Uncle Russell, Kathleen, Mary Lou, Lucretia and Kenneth- Clem and I want to send our deepest condolences, in the loss of dear Aunt Ruth! I will never forget the doll clothes she made for mine and Janet’s dolls, one Christmas, when we were little! Always enjoyed her wonderful cooking, her pies, and spending an occasional Sunday afternoon, at the local church quilt socials, where she always won a quilt (very lucky lady)! A very special lady, who will truly be missed! May she Rest In Peace! We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers! Love, Joan and Clem ❤

We were saddened to learn of Ruth’s passing, and were thankful to be able to know her. She was a big help to Ken in starting his legal career, and was a good friend over the years. We also purchased our first Alaskan malamute from her. Our deepest condolences to Russell, all the children and the rest of the family!

I´m so sorry to hear Ruth passed away. I´ve known her for at least 40 years. We both worked for attorneys and I knew I could always call her for advice and help if I needed it. She was very kind and I appreciate everything she did for me. I will miss her.

Basler Family: I’m sorry to hear the passing of Ruth. I became acquainted with her while I worked at Ozarks Federal and she worked upstairs for Mr Roberts. She was always cheerful and friendly and dressed to a tee. I enjoyed being around her.

Russell & Family,
There are no words of comfort to ease the loss you are feeling now. Only time & memories will ease the pain. The last conversation I had with Ruth was a few weeks ago. We decided we were going to talk more often & I was going to visit when it was safe. We discussed the upcoming holidays, my mother (Eula), the pride we had in our families & a “little” bit about politics. She was my confidante & connection to my mother. I was going to call her this week. We must now take comfort in knowing that she is in her heavenly home even tho there is a huge void in her earthly one. I am heartbroken & will have all of you in my prayers during this difficult time.

Dearest Russell and family. I am surprised and hurt to learn this news. You and Ruth were some of the first people we met when Charles and I moved to Missouri in 1970. We thought the world of both of you and had so many good times enjoying fellowship with you. I can certainly understand your grief and sadness right now and hope you know there is much love, respect, and prayer coming your way. Carol Gamble (for Charles too)
