Bruce A. Elliott

Bruce A. Elliott of Kennett Square Bruce A. Elliott, 67, of Kennett Square, died Monday May 2, 2011 at his home of frontal temporal degeneration. He was the husband of Donna Pulk Elliott, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Hagerstown, Md., he was a son of the late Robert and Mary Singleton Elliott. Bruce graduated from Cornwall Central High in Cornwall, N.Y., then Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. with a BS in chemical engineering and did graduate work at the University of Louisville in engineering management. He attended the ROTC program at Northeastern and was a company commander during the Vietnam War receiving the bronze star with oak leaf cluster. Bruce worked for DuPont Company for 33 years spending the last 22 years of his career at Chambers Works in Deepwater, N.J. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and classical music. He was a board member and treasurer of the Kennett Symphony for over 20 years. Survivors include, in addition to his wife Donna, two sons, B. Alexander Elliott III and his partner Erich Poppitz of Toronto, Ontario, and Christopher D. Elliott and his wife Melissa Neff of Philadelphia, a sister, Jacqueline Delazio of Hagerstown, Md., a brother Philip Elliott and his wife Rita of Cornwall, N.Y, a nephew and two nieces. A memorial service celebrating Bruce's life will be held at a later date at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 401 N. Union St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Interment will be in the adjoining memorial garden.
