Doris M. Hammaker

Doris M. Hammaker of Parkesburg Doris M. Hammaker, 79, of Parkesburg, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Chester County Hospital. She was the widow of the late Robert Hammaker and her first husband, Michael J. Carrick, who died in 1957. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Beatrice Dunlap Hanna. Doris was lifelong resident of Parkesburg who was always looking out for her family and neighbors. She was also passionate about her flowers. She is survived by three children, Margaret E. "Peggy" Andrews and Dorothy M. Carrick both of Christiana, Pa. and Mick J. Carrick and wife Debbra of New Holland; six grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two siblings and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery.
