Dear Priscilla. Even though too many years have passed since I hiked, camped, etc with Eliel, I will always remember him. He was just the perfect buddy; smart, quiet, interesting and interested, skilled in many things. I especially remember his uncanny ability to take a short walk in the woods after we set up camp and come back with something he had found that we could actually use while camping. Once it was a broken crosscut saw blade that we used as a grate to support our cooking pots over the fire. Another was the handle of an old wooden-shafted golf club. We wrapped dough around it to bake over the fire's coals. We called it twist bread and it delicious with wild raspberry jam we had made. Then he kept it as a handy walking stick! This was while we were in Maine with Pete and Lee on our assault on Mt Katahdin. That was a wonderfull adventure.
I know you all miss him a lot, and I'm sure you are all grateful for the time you shared with him. So am I.

Priscilla,I just learned of Liel's passing. I remember my visit to your home during my 50th H.S. reunion, class of 1958. I so enjoyed meeting you and reconnecting with Liel, Pete and Bill, we four Boy Scout buddies. I would like to write, communicate the enjoyment we 4 experienced together and my admiration for Liel. Would you send me an address, [email protected], so I can write. I send you my condolences, understanding and empathy. Lee Rimel 970-390-4256 PO Box 309, Edwards, CO 81632
