Ella Wilmot

(1929-2023) Ella Wilmot, 94, of Kennett Square, PA died July 21, 2023, at Crosslands Retirement Community where she lived for over 30 years with her husband, Leonard "Bud" (2020). Ella was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Irving Benjamin and Goldie May (Willis) Loud and niece of Ruby Willis. Ella graduated from Bates College (1949) where she met Bud. She also did graduate work in physics at Wellesley College. After college Ella and Bud settled for a few years in Fall River, MA followed by nearly 20 years in Charlotte, NC, six years in Oxon Hill, MD and a few years in Malvern, PA as Bud worked as a minister of Christian Education in numerous American Baptist churches. In 1992 they moved to Cartmel and shortly after to Crosslands. She is survived by daughters Ruth Ella (William Warriner) of Brattleboro VT, Martha Ann (Abigail Littlefield) of Westminster West VT, and granddaughter Rachael of Philadelphia PA.
