Hedwig Gedeika Obituary

Hedwig E. "Hattie" Leikus Gedeika, 95, of Honey Brook, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at her home at Tel Hai Retirement Community.
Born in Chester, daughter of the late John and Barbara Tamasauskus Gedeika, she lived for many years in Ridley Park prior to moving to her late residence five years ago.
Hattie as was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and was a self-employed hairdresser.
She loved gardening and animals, especially birds, and always loved to help others in the community.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Gedeika, who died June 16, 1992, after 43 years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Beaulieu (Russell) of Coatesville; sisters, Josephine Remaize and Constance Powell; and also several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn Street and Morton Avenue, Ridley Park, where friends may call from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Cardinal Krol Center, "In Memory of James R. 'Jimmy' Stranix," 1799 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.
