Joseph Chico Obituary

Joseph R. Chico of Chester Springs Joseph R. Chico, 78, husband of Lila Jayne (March) Chico, of Chester Springs, died late Wednesday evening, June 22, 2011 in the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, from complications following abdominal surgery last week. Born on the Chico family farm in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Anthony A. Chico, Sr., and Victoria A. (Plish) Chico. He worked on the family farm for many years. Mr. Chico was a former Borough council member in Phoenixville. An electrical contractor, Mr. Chico owned and operated the Chico Electric and Appliance Store in Phoenixville. He was honored with a life membership of the PA State Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 66. He was a very active member there for many years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Chico is survived by two children, Monique V. Chico, of Phoenixville and Joseph R. Chico, Jr., of Chester Springs; two sisters, Irene M. Chico, Rose Marie Chico; one brother, Anthony A. Chico, Jr., husband of Mary M. (McHugh) Chico; two grandchildren, Collin Joseph "C.J." Chico, Tyler Daniel Chico; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chico was predeceased by one brother, John D. Chico. Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Cleveland Clinic Kaufman Center for Heart Failure, c/o James B. Young, MD, 9500 Euclid Ave, NA-21, Cleveland, OH 44195.
