Joseph R. Poole of Nottingham

Joseph R. Poole, 75, of Nottingham, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011, at Chester County Hospital, West Chester.
He was the husband of Elizabeth L. Greene Poole, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Chilhowie, Va., he was the son of the late Bordy Nelson and Ella Mae Poole.
Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was employed with Dupont in Newark, Del. as an extruder operator, retiring in 1994 after 25 years of service. He was formerly employed with National Vulcanized Fiber in Kennett Square for 13 years. Joseph also worked at the cafeteria in Jordan Bank, Oxford Area School District and was very dedicated, due to his love of children.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Joseph Ray Poole, Jr., (Sasha) of Belen, N.M.; three daughters, Jo Ann May Roach of Nottingham, Connie L. Dyer, (John) of Parkesburg, and Cynthia Sedlak, (Tom) of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Dana Lynn May, Bradun Roach, Joseph Poole III, Corinne Poole, Emily Dyer, Jorja Dyer, Rachel Sedlak and Katlyn Sedlak; two great-grandchildren, Summer and James Gillespie; and two sisters, Stella Stewart and Margaret Mason of Chilhowie, Va.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 12, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where friends and family may call 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 11.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike Suite 105, West Chester, PA 19382.
