We miss Larry so much. I prayed to him directly the other day.

We lived next door to Larry and Marilyn for 18 years. When the kids were young enough to get themselves on the bus, we had an incident that required help. We reached out to Larry and Marilyn for help. I had to leave the house early in the morning to catch a train to NYC. Ryan needed to be up by 6:30. I told him to call me when he got up. No call at 6:30. Or 6:45. Or 6:55. He needed to be on his bus by 7:15. I called the Light House. Marilyn answered. She said she would send Larry over. Larry got into the house, had to push off the dog (Jake, who loved Larry!) and yelled from the bottom of the stairs, "Hey kid! Get up!" after a few attempts, startled and confused, Ryan got up, dressed and made the bus.

Ryan now lives in North Carolina. Recently (two weeks ago) there was a situation when Ryan needed to get up early to drive to an event in Lynchburg VA. We drove from PA and Ryan was due to leave his house at 5 am to meet us there. He wasn't answering his phone at 5. 5:15. 5:20...you get where this is going. I was praying, specifically to Larry. I said, "Hey Larry. I miss you. I know you're up there and you can do this. If it's God's will for him to be up and driving to Lynchburg right now, will you please shout at him and get him up?" I know he heard my prayer. I also know it was not God's will for Ryan to get up. My biggest concern is that he would wake up and panic drive to VA. Instead, he woke up 2 min after the time when it would not be feasible to make it on time. We all shrugged it off as, "not meant to be." I looked up to Larry later that day and thanked him for protecting Ryan. If it was meant to be, he'd have gotten him out of bed.

Missing Larry, as I know we all do. Peace and love to all of you.

I bowled with Larry on my team Thursday nights for many years. I will miss him he was a good guy.
My heartfelt condolences go to his family. He spoke of his wonderful wife and he loved his family. So proud of each and everyone of them. I believe he talked to me about a grandson going to nursing school. I am a nurse I wish him well in his endeavors. He enjoyed his trips to Florida.
Much respect for Larry. May he Rest In Peace and watch over his family.

Larry Light was a very special person, as is his wife Marilyn. We were privileged to know the Lights through their being the next door neighbors of our daughter Shannon and son-in-law Mike. Larry, you will be sorely missed. Marilyn, our hearts go out to you.
