Marianne was one of JA´s most dedicated volunteers. Because of her, thousands of students benefitted by learning about the use of money and understanding the business system. She was a shining light for all who crossed her path.

In the beginning, God created heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. ... And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
My Mami was a fantastic human and always had time for us as we grew. Her ability to relate to children was coupled with her love of sports and doing fun activities. The Harley Davidson tour, the 76rs game where we saw Kobi, The Dodge factory tour, Disney land, and Sea World, and the endless sticker books and Hardy boy books, are just some examples of how she could relate to us. However, she was able to speak to me as a friend and understood the pressures of being a growing adult. From Med school to hospital to carer to parent , she got it, she knew how to communicate and communicate with emotional intelligence. Titles may define perceptions, but actions validate perceptions. She certainly validated my perception of somone who cared. We miss you mami and may you now find peace. Love you always . The Shakurs,

Marianne was a beautiful person with a heart of gold. She was always ready to do anything that would would help the cause of Junior Achievement. Having retired in 2008, I haven´t has the opportunity to see her for the last number of years, but my memories of Marianne will always be that she was a woman of generosity in mind and spirit with a brilliant smile and a big heart. She will be missed by all her friends at Junior Achievement and wherever her magic touched.
