Mrs. Jones was my 5th grade teacher in 1977-78 and it was one of my favorite years in school. She is the reason I became a teacher, and not coincidentally, most of my career has been in 5th grade. I was fortunate to keep in touch with her over the years, and exchange Christmas cards. I wanted to talk to her today, so started searching, but sadly found this page. One of the most wonderful memories I have happened in 1993 in my first year of teaching 5th grade in Philadelphia. My mom brought her into my classroom at John Barry Elementary, where she met and inspired my students, who thought she was the greatest! They dubbed her their, "Grand-fifth grade teacher," which she loved. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Jones

Mrs. Jones was my 2nd Grade teacher at Mary C. Howse Elementary during the 1981-82 school year, and I will never forget her. Looking back I remember her as firm yet fair. She was demanding of us in a good way: demanding each of us to meet or exceed our potential, and her behavioral expectations. Every one of my classmates will remember her warning as to what would happen if we riled her anger: "I'll be shooting fire and spitting nails!" More importantly, Mrs. Jones was nurturing in that she held us to high standards of moral and ethical character and student performance. Through her fine example she laid the groundwork for us to become productive adults. Her care for us extended beyond the classroom--she insisted on holding parent-teacher conferences in our homes. At the time this seemed extremely obtrusive; however, I now realize these visits probably provided her with significant information that enabled her to tailor her instruction to our individual needs. For me, Mrs. Jones fed my love for science--astronomy in particular--and put up with my fascination with the NASA Space Shuttle program. I told her at the end of the school year that she was my favorite teacher. I distinctly remember her saying "thank you, but you'll have a lot more teachers to come." She was correct, but she remains within the several "favorites" in my list. My family and I extend our deepest sympathy at her loss. Thank you, Mrs. Jones, for being a fantastic teacher. May God bless you and your family.

Mrs Jones was my sons Second Grade teacher at MCH in West Chester. She was a wonderful motivator and told us to let her know when he landed on Mars. Rob is now a Colonel in the Marine Corps and I know Mrs Jones would be proud of him. Our family sends our sympathy to your family. Mike and Barbara Hancock

Marilee was my Sister in Christ and one of my good friends. Many years ago we discovered that we both enjoyed the OLD SONGS OF ZION. One of our favorites was Precious Memories and that is how we greeted each other clean up until the end.
To the family, she left lots of love and admiration. To the world, she left guidance to/through life's lemons.
