Robert Fleck Obituary

Robert R. Fleck, 85, of Coatesville passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Mary Krawchuk Fleck with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was the son of the late John and Esther Briggs Fleck. He was a life-long resident of Coatesville, graduating from S. Horace Scott High School in 1949, where he was a two sport athlete. Bob attended Manlius Prep before entering Syracuse University, where he was selected as an All-American in 1952 and 1953 for Football. He was selected as a member of their All Century Team in 2000. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962. He was employed at Lukens Steel Company until his retirement in 1992. He was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Trinity in Coatesville where he served on the vestry and as a junior warden. Bob was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Coatesville Raiders Football. He was a former president of the Coatesville Little League and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Bob loved traveling to Clearwater Beach for Phillies Spring Training and especially enjoyed summer vacations at the shore with his family. He is survived by his son, Robert, Jr. and wife, Brenda; daughter, Donna Fleck all of Coatesville. He was very proud of his five grandchildren, Allison, Rick, Patrick, Laura and Caroline. He also enjoyed his six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John “Jack” Fleck, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville. Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Orthodox Cemetery, Coatesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville, PA 19320. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.harrismountain.com.

Sorry to hear of Bob's Passing. I can remember our young days when we had Fun at Columbia Ave Playground playing basketball, football, and other games. Clean fun and always happy and laughting.He was a good Model, May he rest in Peace!
