Mrs. Mears I never forgot you and Mr. Mears as I was in,
both, your class and his at Larkin School, 5th grade and attended y´all beautiful wedding. That I had hoped that one day, I would get to see the two of you, it saddens me to learn that Mr. Mears has passed. I will pray for peace for the family. May peace be upon him. He was a very good person and cool teacher. Though he is gone he will never be forgotten.

Having the privilege of knowing Donnie from our WCU days.... when I reflect, it brings a smile to my face. I learned so much from Donnie...including a look at life in the town of Eddystone. His sense of humor was second to none and it was always a better day when interacting with Donnie. Loved that guy !!

Dear Doris and the rest of the great Mears Family, we are happy to have the opportunity to respond to and reflect on the life of, Don Mears!!!! Growing up in Eddystone, Don was like an icon to me! He was old enough for me to use him as a positive example and I did! Doris, I pray that you and your loving children have used the time since his passing to reflect on the cool stuff that could only come from Donnie Mears! What a charismatic guy with success and goodness always oozing out of him!!!! May the perpetual light shine upon him and may God continue to Bless his loving family!!!!

I grew up in eddystone knowing Donnie. He was always so much fun. I mostly knew him from playing basketball. I was a cheerleader and of course he was on the EHS basketball team. He was a great ball player. I also remember him at the local bowling ally too. He was always alot of fun to be around. He is one of the names of many stoners that is forever seared into my memories of a wonderful time growing up as a teen in eddystone. Go Stoners go. Joanne Bowden from Eddystone avenue.

I met Don in high school playing basketball against his Eddystone team and we continued our friendship at West Chester University. I'll always remember his great smile and positive attitude. Our prayers and sympathy to Doris and his family.

Doris, I was so sad to hear about the passing of your wonderful husband! He was a very sweet & kind man! Everyday when I would see him at Dialysis he would wink at me! In all the time I took care of him, he never once complained! Doris, you were a very devoted wife to him!
Your beautiful memories you both shared will help you to heal! Your children & grandchildren will be your greatest support!
I am praying for you and your family for your great loss!

Dear Doris, Bob, Debbie, Brian, Bruce, Ron, grandchildren and the entire Mears' Family, We re so sorry to hear of your great loss. I was six years younger than Donnie growing up in Eddystone. But, I cannot remember not knowing him. When you grow up in a small town, everyone seems to know everyone else. Certainly there was never a gap because the Mears' boys always seemed to be around. Donnie was the first and set a great example for his younger brothers to follow. I was glad to have all four of them as friends. Doris and family, please try to get through this extremely difficult time by remembering all the great experiences that happened because he was there. We send our best thoughts and prayers to your family and may the perpetual light shine upon him! Cheryl and Bill, Caroline and Glenn, and Megan and Ben Davis

I didn't know Don well, but I grew up with his younger brothers Ace, Bruce and Ron. From the stories I heard about Don, he was one hell of a guy. Our thoughts and prayers go out for Don and his entire family.
