Ronald Parr Obituary
He was the son of the late Adam and Margaret Brown Parr, and the husband of Evangelist Charlotte Eggleston Parr.
A native of Coatesville, Elder Parr was a 1961 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.
He was employed at Lukens Steel Co. for 33 years, retiring in June 2000 from the crane department.
Over the years, Elder Parr served at First Calvary Church in Coatesville as Sunday school teacher, and teacher for children's church and church administrator. Elder Parr was actively involved in the youth department, traveling within the state churches promoting youth fellowship from Harrisburg to Philadelphia.
After being called into the ministry, he studied at the Grace Bible Institute in Coatesville, and was ordained in 1987. He served in Holy Tabernacle as Sunday school teacher and Bible study teacher.
He served his community for 15 years by supporting the People Helping People Soup Kitchen. Additionally, he served as the program chairman for the Ministerial Alliance of Coatesville and Vicinity for the past five years.
He leaves his wife, Evangelist Charlotte Parr; two sons, Bryan M. (Yolanda) Parr of Chester, Pa., and Darren K. Parr of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Ronnette S. Tooles and Denisha M. (Michael-Zane) Johnson, both of Coatesville; one sister, Juanita (George) Richardson of Coatesville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates St., Coatesville.
Viewing will begin at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in the New Evergreen Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Parr on only one occasion; when his son Darrren and I graduated from law school together. I was taken by this great smile and his sense of pride in Darren's accomplishment. I'm sure he was even prouder knowing that Darren was carring on his work in helping those less fortunate as he continues to smile down on his family. Our prayers are with you.
