Ruth was an unique and inspirational person. She befriended many people, including my mother, when they first moved into Barclay Friends to help them adjust to their changed lives. She enveloped all of us in kindness and gentleness. We referred to her as a guardian angel. She was also very independent and interested in what was going on in the world. She spoke with my daughter who was on her way to study in China about her own time teaching and living there. I've asked my to daughter to create a memorial for her there.

I volunteered at The Barclay and often had the pleasure of working with Ruth. She was a wonderful person, having a ready smile and a kind word for everyone. I know she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
