Sandra Aberant Obituary

Sandra A. Aberant (nee Hollett) of Exton Sandra Ann Aberant, 53, beloved wife of John Aberant, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Sandra, known to most as Sandy, was born in Alexandria, Va. She grew up in Westtown, Pa. with her three sisters (Nancy Lee Hollett-Wright, Deborah Jean Welsh, and Michelle Lyn Krahling) and brother (William Douglas Hollett). Sandy was the daughter of John Arthur Hollett (deceased) and Bettie Virginia Hollett (nee Rindone). Sandy attended East High School in West Chester and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Family was of the utmost importance to Sandy, and she welcomed any opportunity to spend time with her close immediate family and large extended one. Sandy absolutely adored her devoted husband, John Aberant. She loved spending lazy beach days with him at their favorite bed and breakfast by the shore, and she would occasionally serenade him with a song while sleeping. She took immense pride in her two precious children, Kyle Louis Hopkins and Kirah Ashlee Hopkins. She loved them as deeply and wholly as is humanly possible, and took great joy in being able to call herself their mother. They were the light of her life and their lives continue to stand as her enduring legacy for the world. Sandy enjoyed being near the ocean, whether walking the beach in Cape May or sailing in St. Michaels. A lover of good conversations, snapdragons, and back-cracking hugs, Sandy was famous for her incredible pumpkin pies and her overall affinity for dessert. She cherished working in her garden and spending quiet moments in the Word daily. Sandy's sense of humor was strong and her wit undeniable - she had a contagious laugh that would fill a room, and set everyone else laughing along with her. Her zest for life was magnetic and beautiful. Sandy's passion in life was serving others. She was fluent in American Sign Language and worked as a facilitator and interpreter for Deaf individuals. She embraced being a part of the Deaf Community by volunteering, interpreting, attending social events, and supporting anyone in need. She was welcomed and treasured by the people she worked with, just as she was by all who met her. Sandy loved the Lord. Her relationship with our Heavenly Father shone through every day. Her faith and ministering, through words and by example, touched the lives of all and facilitated the spiritual growth of many. She frequently, using ASL, performed worship songs for local churches, Bible studies, and faith-based retreats. Her "dancing hands" beautifully proclaimed the gospel and conveyed the love of Christ with every movement. Ever praying, Sandy's faith never wavered and her time on this earth stands as a model of Christian life. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at Calvary Chapel at 217 Dowlin Forge Road, Exton PA 19341. Visitation is at 6 p.m. Anyone whose life was touched by Sandy's is welcome to attend. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, Sandy requested that donations be made to the Missions ministry at her home church, Calvary Chapel Chester Springs. Arrangements are being handled by The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335, (610)269-3080. Online condolences at www. donohuefuneralhome.com.

Sandy was as full of life as people come. I was fortunate to have spent a few years with Sandy in High School. I treasure those memories. My prayers and condolences to all her family.

I will miss Sandy's giving spirit. She always made time for her family and friends and was a wonderful listener as well as adviser. I have many fond memories of our decades long friendship and she will always be in my heart. She was a true friend in every sense of the word and will be greatly missed.
