Mr. Funk was my basketball coach and assistant principal at Scott High School. I did not know it at that time but his coaching and attitude toward life has stayed with me throughout my life. He was not a push over but was fair and expected you to be the best you could be.

Dear Julie,
I met your husband a long time ago as he was my nutrition professor at West Chester University. What a wonderful teacher! I always looked forward to his class! I met you many years later and can see why you two were together- both wonderful, kind people!! I am sending thoughts and prayers your way at this time.

Walt was the best principal I ever worked for. It was because of the "Tall Man's" inspiration that I had a 40 year career in public education.

Mr. Funk was my principal at Scott and a man we all looked up to...literally and figuratively. It was he who professionally yet solemnly announced to all of us the death of President Kennedy, some of us thinking at first it was our Student Council President Kennedy. He was always a busy man but always had time to greet us students. He was an excellent manager of resources at Scott, too, and the challenges of different student shifts worked smoothly under his leadership. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
