Wilson T. Lambert Sr.

Wilson T. Lambert Sr. of Coatesville Wilson T. Lambert, Sr., 90, of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2010, at home. He was the husband of the late Naomi Byrd Lambert, who passed away 1998. Born in Coatesville on October 29, 1921, he was the son of the late Eliza Jane Johnson and Rayfield Lambert. He was raised and educated in Coatesville. In his youth, he attended the First Baptist Church of Passtown when it was located on Church Street in Hayti. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Wilson retired from Lukens Steel Company in 1981 after 44 years of service. He loved to hunt and was a member of the Cornelius Gun Club until its closing. Wilson was an avid reader of many books, newspapers, periodicals, and circulars. He is survived by two sons, Wilson T. Lambert, Jr., husband of Senaca Lambert, and George B. Lambert, husband of Malika Lambert; five grandchildren; two brothers, William A. Lambert, Sr. and wife, Nannie, and Joe Mason and wife, Betty; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his caregiver, Lynn Carson. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Louise, a grandson, two brothers, and his grandmother, Annie Glasco, who raised him. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester.
