Antonia Ill Obituary

Antonia (Toni) Laura Ill passed away on September 24, 2023, after a prolonged illness.

She was born December 5, 1946, to Lt. Commander Antonio Ill and Florence "Jan" Jarecki Ill in Virginia Beach, VA. She lived in many places as her family was career US Navy. She graduated from Regina Dominican Catholic High School in IL and attended Northern Illinois University. She moved to Germantown, TN in 1989 when she joined the FedEx team with the merger of the Flying Tigers as a Regulatory Systems advisor. She continued to work for FedEx and retired in 2013 after a long career in cargo. She enjoyed watching old movies and going to see shows at the Memphis Playhouse Theater when she wasn't planning a vacation for her family or friends. She was the Membership Director for the Flying Tigers Club and was active in the group's activities. She was the organizer for the class of 1962 réunion for Regina Dominican.

She is survived by her brother, Mark; nieces Lauren (Scott) Jackson and Courtney Ill, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of her favorite charities.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.

just stumbled across this obituary. Sad day as I had lost contact with her during the Pandemic and failed to reach out to check on her. My condolences to Mark her brother and voluntary partner in life, who kept her busy after retirement and allowed her to enjoy her days post FedEx. A grand lady, teacher, friend and critical thinker when you needed her to be, her story was grand with her youthful life in Hawaii being some of her favorite memories to share with all of us. May she rest in peace and her memories continue to live on via her family and her extended family of friends she crafted through the years.

I was a classmate of Toni's at Regina. I did not realize that we went to the same university, Northern Illinois. I have spoken to Toni in recent years and remember her as an energetic, kind person. I am sure she will be missed by her family and many friends.

Can this be possible? Why, of course, the Lord needs some organization in heaven and has tapped Toni to come on up and get everything in order. She was always such a friendly, kind girl at Regina that I'm not surprised at the "cargo" career she achieved. As we approach our 60th next year, I know we will miss her energy and friendship. I will light her candle at our upcoming Remembrance Mass. God Bless those who loved her and must now say goodbye.
