Barry Nash Obituary
Mr. Barry Keith Nash, a devoted husband, father, Marine Corps veteran, and 28 year servant of the Memphis Fire Department, passed away on November 3, 2025, in Bartlett, Tennessee. He was 57 years old.
Born on April 6, 1968, in Guin, Alabama, Barry was raised with strong values that would guide him throughout his life. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ shaped his character and actions; he lived each day with love, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others.
Barry began his journey of service as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the military was marked by dedication and bravery-qualities that would continue to define him long after his honorable service ended.
On May 27, 1997, Barry joined the Memphis Fire Department after earning his paramedic license. He was first assigned to Unit 3 and quickly became known for his professionalism and calm under pressure. His leadership skills and commitment to excellence led to his promotion to EMS Lieutenant on June 15, 2007. Later in his career, he took on the critical role of Infection Control Officer for the department. In this capacity, Barry played an instrumental role in guiding the City of Memphis through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. His expertise and steady presence were invaluable during one of the most difficult times in recent history.
Barry's professional accomplishments were matched only by his devotion to his family. He was the most loving husband to Heather Nash and a proud father to their two sons, Noah Nash and Adam (Bethany) Nash. His love for them was boundless and evident in every aspect of his life. Barry also shared a close bond with his mother Christine (Curley Camp) Myers-Camp; Father-in-Law Marvin (Beverly) Swinford, Mother-in-Law Karen Schrack Swinford; siblings Eluna (Patrick) Vintson, Michael Nash, Jason Nash, Melinda (Tony) Humbers; Sister-in-Law, Elisha (Dale) Hoskins; nephews Jake Vintson, Josh (Chandler) Vintson, Logan (Amber) Humbers, Jesse (Hannah) Humbers, John Gabriel Nash, Ty Hoskins, Kyle (Victoria) Hoskins, Ryan (Veronica) Hoskins, and nieces Destiny (Zach) Dill, Alexis (Matthew) Nichols, and Annabeth Nash; six Great-Nephews and Nieces and a nephew on the way. And a host of extended family members who cherished him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father, Truman Lee Nash and sister-in-law, Angie Avery Nash.
Barry's faith was central to who he was. A devout Christian who loved Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, he spread God's word daily through both action and word. His kindness, patience, forgiveness, and joy touched everyone around him. Those who knew Barry will remember him as a man who loved life and family beyond measure-a man whose presence brought comfort and strength.
Barry Keith Nash leaves behind a legacy of service, love, faith, and resilience. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Until we meet again in heaven-we love you, Barry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Bartlett Baptist Church 3465 Kirby Whitten Pkwy.
