Cisa Marie Linxwiler

1968 - 2025

Cisa Marie Linxwiler, 57, of Germantown, Tennessee, died unexpectedly on the evening of October 23, 2025.

Born in Memphis in 1968, Cisa was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy and Memphis State University, where she also earned her law degree.

In law school, Cisa's favorite subject was Constitutional law. Coupled with her compassion for the underrepresented, she discovered a love of immigration law, helping families and especially those seeking asylum from persecution. Her advocacy and unwavering commitment to upholding human rights made a tangible difference in many lives.

After several fulfilling years in law, Cisa wanted to dedicate more time to her family. She chose to stay at home to raise her children and pursue her first passion – teaching. This passion was fulfilled through homeschooling her children, volunteering in her church's educational ministry, and eventually serving for five years as Director of Religious Education at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. She loved her parish, and all the children and adults she taught.

Cisa's other passion was running. Since the fourth grade, she was a devoted runner-competing in cross country in high school and college, and maintaining a daily run of at least four miles into her late forties. Her favorite route was the yellow and blue trails along the Wolf River in the Lucius Burch State Natural Area of Shelby Farms. Even when faced with flooded trails and waist-deep water, Cisa's would wade through and return home muddy, wet, and beaming with joy.

Cisa was predeceased by her father, George Mickle, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Matthew Linxwiler; her beloved children, Elliott and Olivia; and her mother, Mary Louise Mickle.

Services will be held Saturday, November 15, at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, in Memphis. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. and a reception at the church.
