Doris Davis Obituary
Visitation, Monday, March 20, 2023, 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. at Joe Ford Funeral Home 1616 Winchester Road, 38116. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 555 Vance Avenue, 38126. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her passing, grandson, Gregory Davis, III, mother, Ernestine Cox, father, William N. Cox, Sr., sister, Rochelle Cox, brothers, William N. Cox, Jr. and Vernon Cox(Lula), host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joe Ford Funeral Home has charge.

We're extremely surprised and heartbroken to hear this news and disappointed we can't attend the services. However, we know that Doris had been heartbroken for at least seven years with the loss of Bette, Manuel, Ruth, Silas, Greg, Belton, Jessie, Nellie, Charlie, Gregory and her brothers. I'm sure her heart had mended some by the reunion. Doris always loved a family gather and good family cooked food. We'll miss my cousin.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Doris was a beacon of light at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and she will be greatly missed. We grew up in church together and worked on many projects together. She was a perfectionist and always gave her all to any task at hand. Doris was like a big sister to me and I love and miss her. Rest in peace, my Sister-in-Christ.
