Gary Bratton Obituary
Above all, Ray cherished his family. He was a steady presence, a good listener, and a source of wisdom and encouragement. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren shaped the life he lived and the memories they will forever hold close. Family gatherings, shared laughter, and time spent together were his greatest joys.
Professionally, Ray built a distinguished career as a maritime lawyer. Known for his sharp mind, dedication, and unwavering ethics, he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. His work reflected the same values he lived by.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa Chiles (Brett), sons Scott Bratton and David Bratton and three grandchildren, Margaret, Linden, and Jack. He leaves behind a sister, Norma B. Cowell and a brother, Michael W. Bratton (Vicki). He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Bratton, his brother, Clinton Woodrow Bratton Jr., and his parents, Clinton Woodrow Bratton and Bessie Mae Buford.
A celebration of his life will be held at the mausoleum rotunda of Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, February 20th. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral and entombment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be sent to West Clinic in Memphis, the Humane Society of Memphis, or your local animal shelter of choice.

Lisa, Scott and David my thoughts and prayers are with all of you on the loss of your Dad.
I have the fondest memories of both your parents. He and Margaret Ann were two of the kindest and most fun people to be around.
The three of you are a wonderful legacy they have left us.

I met Ray over 40 years ago when he was practicing law at Farris Hancock Gilman Brannan and Hellen. He has been friend ever since. Ray was a Gentlemen's Gentleman; a lawyer's lawyer and simply a terrific person. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and all who knew him. Rest in Peace my friend.

I´m Brad Tisdale, and my late father, Tex Tisdale, lived next door to Ray for many years. I had so many great conversations with him, and your picture of him is exactly how I remember him. He was a smart, funny, thoughtful man and I enjoyed every minute I spent with him, always looking forward to the next time. My heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends. I live in NC and won´t be able to attend the memorial service for Ray, but I´ll be there in spirit and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Ray!
