Gregory Paul Koziel

Gregory Paul Koziel, 76, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 17, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Born on December 8, 1948, Greg graduated from Findlay High School and continued his education at Findlay College. His passion for music and craftsmanship led him to a distinguished career in the pipe organ industry. In the early 1970s, he moved to Memphis as the youngest sales representative of the M.P. Möller Pipe Organ Company and soon after founded Koziel Pipe Organ Services in 1973. Over the decades, his work became an integral part of the Memphis musical landscape through notable installations at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Brigid Catholic Church, St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Christ Methodist Church, Church of the Holy Communion, and Bellevue Baptist Church's former location on Mississippi Boulevard.

Beyond his professional achievements, Greg was known for his love of gardening, cooking, entertaining friends and family, singing with the Rhodes MasterSingers Chorale, enjoying Memphis Tiger football and basketball, playing golf, and appreciating fine automobiles.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Ellen; sons Paul (Caitlin) and Brian (Susie); grandsons Connor and Dylan; and siblings David, Robert, and Laurie. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Paul Koziel and Alice Bonk Koziel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23rd at the Church of the Holy Communion, located at 4645 Walnut Grove Rd., Memphis, TN 38117.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your church's music department or organ maintenance fund or to the Memphis Botanic Gardens.

Greg's legacy lives on through every note played on the instruments he so lovingly built and maintained. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
