Jane Culbreath Nichols and I were cousins, and I got to know her well in retirement years as we worked on hear father & my mother's Culbreath ancestors who settled in Covington, TN from Virgina long ago. Jane was excellent with enhancing old photos and taught me how to do it for my old photos. We had fun together going to Covington and interviewing people who knew about our ancestors. Jane made artistic scrapbooks about the family members with new information that wasn't known to the family members alive today! We shall miss her especially when we do family history. She was known in our family to be very smart and unique. She lived to go to other countries and learn about their culture and was fortunate to have Harry as her husband who shared with her the interest and traveled with Jane on many enough of her trips. He has many good memories that shall comfort him as he adjusts to her death. She leaves some of her collection treasures from the countries she visited to the University of Memphis!

I have only known Harry and Jane for the past 10 years and they have brought so much joy during that time. I loved Jane and I loved that she marched to the beat of her own drum - she was true to herself - a lesson everyone should learn. I loved how dedicated she was to her cats, and of course, her many scrapbooks and photographs were amazing. While reviewing her scrapbooks, she could transport the viewer to another place and time with awe. I will remember our fun times at the Elton John concert, picking peaches, eating dinners out, and just plain good times working in the yard and enjoying the garden and flowers. And let's not forget Christmas cookie decorating! Jane was always on the move and ready to go and do, no matter what it was. She loved her Harry and he loved her and that was always special to see. I know the last few years were hard for both Jane and Harry and Harry was a devoted husband and cared for her well. We will keep Jane's memories with us and know that she is undoubtedly taking photos of all of our heavenly angels for her newest scrapbook. We will also keep Harry company and take good care of him in her absence on earth. Jane will be missed.

Jane was my mother´s cousin but to me she was Aunt Jane. How exciting it was to hear about her world travels. She loved my grandmother "Sarah "
and would visit with her in her later years making sure she had what she needed. I will miss looking through all her scrapbooks and hearing about the family history. She was also a very talented photographer. What a life well lived . I will miss you.
