Jeffrey Triplett Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. Jeffrey Thomas Triplett, a loving husband, devout father, son, and brother, and cherished Papa, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 61, in Memphis, TN. Jeff is survived by his wife of 39 years, Teri; his children, Rachel (Ryan) Coleman, Sarah (Bill) Hopp, and Jacob (Elizabeth) Triplett; four grandchildren, Hazel Hopp, James Coleman, Benjamin Coleman, and Emma Hopp; his mother, Carol Ann Triplett; and his sister Jane Ann (Richard) Hicks. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy D. Triplett. Jeff was born on April 30, 1963 in Nashville, TN to Carol Ann and Tommy D. Triplett. He was raised in Waverly, TN on Big Richland Creek. Jeff was a graduate of Waverly Central High School, class of 1981, the University of Tennessee at Martin, class of 1985 with a degree in biology pre-med, and the Quillen-Dishner College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, class of 1989. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, Delta Upsilon chapter. While at UTM, he met the love of his life, Teri Hartz. Jeff and Teri were married on December 21, 1985. He went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a Radiation Oncologist, practicing in Union City, TN, Paducah, KY, Greenville, MS, and Madisonville, KY, among other locations. Jeff and Teri raised their three children in Union City, where he was an active member of the community. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and avid tennis and racquetball player. He loved being on the water and could frequently be found on Kentucky Lake. His loving, kind, patient, empathetic nature was truly exemplified by his actions for those around him. He was constantly caring for others, both personally and professionally, and even after death as an organ donor. To know him, was to love him, feel loved by him, laugh with him, and enjoy his unwavering friendship. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the joy of knowing him. Above all else, Jeff loved his family. He was a steadfast leader, loyal supporter, and constant provider of unconditional love and joy. He was our absolute everything. Flowers can be sent to Christ Methodist Church or Memphis Funeral Home. If you would like to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers, please contribute to the church or charity of your choosing. Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Christ Methodist Church in Memphis, TN. Services to follow at 1:00 pm.
