Jimmy Lenn Duncan

Jimmy Lenn Duncan age 72 resident of Collierville, Tennessee and husband of the late Linda (Jan) Duncan departed this life Friday morning August 9, 2024 at Methodist of Germantown Hospital.

Jimmy was born June 5, 1952 in Brownsville, Tennessee, the son of the late George Odell Duncan and Lorene Davis Duncan. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and was married July 25, 2008 to Linda “Jan” Duncan who preceded him death on September 2, 2022. Mr. Duncan was employed at Rossville Auto Parts for many years as an automotive mechanic. Following retirement, he began working at Gene Gossett’s Auto Parts where he then retired.

Jimmy loved helping people with mechanic problems all over, even when they couldn’t afford to fix it, he always found a way to help. He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks, cutting grass, helping anyone in need and listening to good old country gospel music sitting on the tail gate of his ole truck. Most of all, he loved spending time during special events with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is survived by two sons, Tony Duncan (Michelle) of Somerville, TN and Jerry L. “Tad” Moody, Jr. of Collierville, TN; his daughter, Jennifer Moody (James Phillips) of Paragould, AR; four grandchildren, Hunter Duncan, Hailey Duncan, Kaitlynn Moody and Austin Moody; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Harmon, Jaxson Kelley and Jameson Kelley; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Edward Duncan and William Earl Duncan; and his sister, Martha Ann Henry.

Funeral Services for Mr. Duncan were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Eddie Martin, pastor of Christ Church in Brownsville, officiating.
