Judsin Moss Obituary

Judsin Lee Moss of Allen, Texas, passed away February 1, 2026 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Whitfield and Danna Payne Moss, his wife Mary, his sister Elizabeth Moss Johnston, brother Samuel Louis Moss and is survived by Dana Michael Moss, brother. Jud leaves four daughters Felicia Moss, Gina [Nalbone], Diana [Kohlman] and Pam Moss and four grandchildren.

Jud was born in Stump City AR and spent his early years in eastern Arkansas until the family moved to Memphis in 1940. He attended Fairview Junior High and graduated from Bartlett High in 1951. He was a member of the 1948 Bartlett Football Team that won the Shelby County championship. In the 1950 football season Jud earned All County honors. He attended Memphis State College

Jud joined the army. He and hundreds of other soldiers were assigned to a desert in the Southwestern US and were exposed to atomic bomb tests. He also spent time at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA. Following the army tour he moved to New York. He graduated from Rutgers with a degree in chemical engineering. He lived in New Jersey and worked many years for Carter Wallace Laboratories in Quality Control.

After retirement Jud and Mary moved to Somerset Kentucky and led an active life, square dancing and gardening. Jud had a woodshop and loved working with his hands. He created several pieces of furniture. Health issues forced a slow down. They sold their old Kentucky home and moved to Allen, Texas, close to his daughter Diana. His four daughters summed up his life well with, "He Was A Good Daddy. My Dad Was a Lovely Man and I Feel So Blessed to have had him."
