Leo Albert Sieben Jr., a devoted and faithful man, passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 14, 1946, in
Memphis, Tennessee, Leo was known for being a hard-working, yet humorous man with a generous nature.
He grew up on Highway 51 in Whitehaven, where his mother owned The Big Apple restaurant. Leo's early years were marked by his commitment to education, and he nurtured an insatiable sense of curiosity by reading and collecting books throughout his life.
Leo proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, servicing electronics while stationed in Turkey and in London as a civilian. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a Field Engineer, eventually retiring from Agfa after more than two decades supporting the entire Mid-South region.
Leo loved to meet new people. He always had a new pun or joke to break the ice. A man of many interests, Leo was passionate about mathematics, science, and technology. He enjoyed woodworking and metalworking and was known for his ability to fix anything. He also had a deep love for music, particularly classical music and was a supporter of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and The Beethoven Club.
Leo was a loyal and active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a four-time Grand Knight. Leo was an active volunteer in local elections.
Leo is survived by his loving wife, Laura Bellinger Sieben; his sons, Leo A. Sieben, III (Joyce) and James W. Sieben (Lisa); his daughter, Mariah C. Salim (Marc); and his cherished grandchildren, Gretchen Novella and Lyla Mae. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maureen Melvin Sieben; his daughter, Summer Anne Austin; and his brother, James Henry Sieben.
Leo's humorous spirit and commitment to his community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 1425 East Shelby Drive, Memphis, Tennessee, on December 3, 2025, from 9:30 am until the Rosary at 10:30 am.
