Leonard Franklin Obituary

Leonard Franklin was born on March 18, 1956 to the late Hudy Franklin and Ruby Franklin.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Zion Piperton M.B. Church. He attended Fayette County Schools and was a 1974 Graduate of Fayette Ware High School in Somerville, TN.

Nard was a shining light to all he came in contact with. He never met a stranger. His helping hands stretched beyond the limits. Nard's memory will live in all our hearts. He was so gracious to teach his nieces and nephews how to drive, what a brave man he was. Nard was a faithful and dedicated worker. He was employed by Mason's Florist for many years. Ms. Mason was his Godmother who loved him dearly. He also worked for C.J.'s Supreme Catering. Nard was very caring.

Leonard transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by seven of his siblings, Luevator, Richard, Pistol, Galvester, Hustella, Willie Jean and Martha Jean.

Leonard's memories will live in the hearts of his daughter, Carlissa Franklin; his four siblings, Ulysses Franklin (Georgia), Eddie Franklin (Teresa), Ruby Bolden (Herbert), Benjamin Franklin (Patricia); a Godbrother, John Mason, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and niece/caregiver, Annie Love.

Body will lie in state on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 – 11:55 a.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 300 Mt. Zion Rd., Piperton, TN. Interment immediately following at Mt. Zion M.B. Church Cemetery. Pastor Pierre Lyons, officiating.
