Send FlowersMark Jacob Wohlfort, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at his residence on September 26, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on December 19, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, Mark lived a life filled with steadfast dedication to his family, which remained the most significant priority during his time on earth.
Mark had a remarkable career in sales, working over 20 years at Darragh Company, where his natural talent and charisma shone brightly. Those who had the pleasure of working alongside him knew him not just as a colleague but as someone who brought warmth and humor to the workplace. His colleagues often remarked on his ability to connect with others and his unwavering commitment to excellence.
Beyond his career, Mark had a profound passion for life. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the University of Tennessee football, faithfully cheering for his team through every season. His love for sports extended to baseball, where he was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, and he also found joy in the exhilarating world of NASCAR, further reflecting his adventurous spirit.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Wohlfort, who resides in Oakland, TN. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Mark is also survived by his two daughters, Shannon Wohlfort Richardson of Orlando, FL, and Jennifer Carter of Millington, TN, as well as his son, Michael Carter, and his daughter-in-law, Emily, of Hernando, MS. His siblings, sister Beth Miller and brother Eric Wohlfort, along with their families, feel the loss of Mark deeply but carry forward his legacy of love and support.
The joy of being a grandfather was evident in Mark’s life, illustrated by the smiles of his grandchildren—Brandon, Ashley, Jacob, Ashley, Noah, and Emma—who brought him indescribable joy. His spirit will continue to live on in every memory shared and every story told about the man who treasured family above all.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Willis Wohlfort and Betty Leona Boyd Wohlfort, whose guidance and love shaped the considerate and caring man he became. As we remember Mark, we celebrate a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that will forever echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Please join the family in celebration of Mark and all that he meant to you.
