Mary Frances Adams

1936 - 2025

Mary Frances Adams, 89, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on December 17, 2025.

Born in Memphis on December 11, 1936, to Lawrence H. Adams and Catherine G. Adams, Mary Frances was a lifelong resident of the city she loved.

As a devout Catholic, she was actively involved at Blessed Sacrament Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Altar Society, was in the Legion of Mary, and was a member of Madonna Circle.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception and went on to earn her bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Memphis. She was a lifelong, devoted Tiger football and basketball supporter. Mary Francis enjoyed a distinguished career as a certified executive assistant at Weil Brothers Cotton Co., where she served faithfully for over 40 years.

She cherished her family above all, especially her many nieces, nephews, and all her great nieces and nephews, and delighted in sharing her love and crafting talents with them.

In her final years, Mary Frances resided at Belmont Village, where she embraced the joys of Bingo and Happy Hour. Known affectionately as the "Candy Lady" for her habit of generously sharing sweets with fellow residents, she brought sweetness and smiles to all around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Catherine Trouy and Peggy Adams.

Mary Frances is survived by her brother, Lawrence H. "Buddy" Adams (Barbara); her sisters, Patsy Barrow and Jeanne Duffy (John); and many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM, Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Monday, December 29, 2025, St. Michael Catholic Church.

Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery; a reception will follow immediately after at Mary's home.
